Guidance for Mini Roads zone users
Before using the Mini Roads zone, it’s essential to understand and adhere to our rules and regulations. Please respect other users and the surrounding environment by following all posted signs and instructions.
All riders must report to reception to sign in before riding on the Mini Roads zone, and sign out before they leave.
Under 11’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Choose the right bicycle:
For both children and adults learning to ride, the most suitable bicycle is one that offers stability, control, and confidence.
For children beginning their learning to ride journey, balance bikes or small wheeled bikes with training wheels are recommended.
For adults, bikes, such as hybrid bikes, that offer a comfortable upright riding position and wider tires for stability are a good choice.
When selecting a bicycle for learning to ride, it’s essential to ensure that the bike fits the rider properly. The rider should be able to comfortably reach the handlebars and pedals while maintaining a slight bend in the knee when the pedal is at the lowest position.
Safety Gear:
Wearing appropriate safety gear is crucial when learning to ride. Riders should wear a properly fitting helmet at all times, and wear clothes that allow for freedom of movement when on the bicycle. It’s sensible to avoid wearing baggy clothes or long skirts, and don’t wear open-toed shoes.
Start Slow:
Learning to ride can be a daunting experience, and it’s not a race. Take your time, and make sure you’ve mastered each step before moving on to the next. As you learn new skills and gain in confidence you can gradually increase your speed as you become more comfortable riding a bicycle.
Respect Other Riders:
Our Mini Roads zone is a shared space used by riders of varying skill levels and ages. Be mindful of other users and yield to riders who are moving faster or have the right of way. Avoid sudden stops or unpredictable movements that could cause collisions or disrupt the flow of traffic on the course.
The following are prohibited on the Mini Roads zone at all times:
No Smoking or Vapes

No Chewing Gum

No Soft or Fizzy Drinks

No Dogs or Other Animals

No
Alcohol

By following these guidelines and practicing good etiquette, you can make the most of your time on our MSH Mini Roads zone while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for yourself and others.
Have Fun and Experiment:
Above all, learning to ride should be an enjoyable experience. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different techniques, and speeds to find what works best for you. Challenge yourself to improve your skills with each lap and celebrate your progress along the way.
