Guidance for users
All riders must report to reception to sign in before riding on the cycle track, and sign out before they leave.
Under 11’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Safety Gear:
Wearing appropriate safety gear is crucial when cycling. Riders must wear a helmet at all times when on the track. Cycling gloves are recommended.
Cycle specific clothing isn’t necessary when using the cycle track, but clothing should be comfortable and functional, allowing for ease of movement, and suited to weather conditions.
Choose the right bicycle:
Bicycles come in many different shapes and sizes and you may ride any type of bicycle on the cycle track, including road legal e-bikes.
To be considered road legal, an e-bike must:
- Have pedals and require that the pedals are turned before the motor is activated
- Have a rated motor power of 250W or less
- Have a motor that does not assist the rider when travelling at over 15.5 mph
All bikes must be in good working order and have working brakes. Please note, bikes fitted with stunt pegs are not permitted on the cycle track.
Start Slow:
If you’re new to cycling or unfamiliar with the specific layout of our cycle track, start with a slow pace to familiarize yourself with the track’s features and flow. Gradually increase your speed and confidence as you become more comfortable navigating the course.
Respect Other Riders:
The cycle track is a shared space used by riders of varying skill levels and ages. Be mindful of other users and yield to riders who are moving faster or have the right of way. Avoid sudden stops or unpredictable movements that could cause collisions or disrupt the flow of traffic on the track.
Cycling is not a risk free activity, and accidents may happen without outside interference. Riders should be aware of this and take full responsibility for their own actions.
The following are prohibited on the cycle track at all times:
No Smoking or Vapes

No Chewing Gum

No Soft or Fizzy Drinks
